Stephanie Jackson
New Print Identity
CHALLENGE
Raise Stephanie out of the sea of actresses in NY and LA. Create a unique and personal brand that represented her style and personality.
SOLUTION
Utilize personal elements from Stephanie (her signature, hair color, and skin tone) to create a wide range of engaging correspondence pieces.

Stephanie came to Design Brooklyn in need of an update for her promotional materials. She had worked with various designers who all provided their own input into what her 'identity' should have been. She had scattered representations of her personal brand across her materials and needed to regroup with a redesign. As an actress Stephanie knew the importance of her headshot and resume but wanted to expand to professional letterhead and a personal stationary set. She wanted to be evenly and beautifully represented in each correspondence from her resume to her thank you note.

Design Brooklyn's first step was to fully assess her 'big picture'; what would be the dream outcome of her project and how did she want to be perceived? After a few revisions we were able to strip her aesthetic down to some key principles: simplicity, femininity, and sophistication. We chose to utilize the color story that Stephanie brought to each of our meetings; the tones from her hair and skin! Not only did these colors merge well with her aesthetic principles they also allowed for perfect blending with her headshot.
Design Brooklyn also recognized that the most personal logo to represent Stephanie would have to emerge from her own handwriting. We analyzed some of her signature samples and created a digitally polished arrangement to serve as her new logo. With the newly rendered design 'DNA' we crafted each piece to serve it's purpose: as an introduction, a formal communication, and an expression of gratitude.
We decided the order of correspondence would go as follows:
Headshot (Resume on the back)
We revamped her resume by polishing the format, applying her logo, and using a cleaner, more legible type face.
Business Card (included with her headshot)
The card was printed by Aldine, with a beautiful, full color, glossy headshot on one side, her thermographed logo and information on the other. It had a nice weight to it, not too heavy, but substantial enough to show she meant business.

Business Letterhead
A very simple application of the logo with her styled contact information was all it needed. Simple. Sophisticated.

Stationary Set (Card and Envelope)
Stephanie needed to say thank you to every casting director, agent, and manager that helped her pursue her dream. We decided to use her logo to create a light border pattern atop an enriched skin tone. It was light enough for her to write on and mildly embellished with Stephanie's unique logo.

Here's what Stephanie had to say...
"EXCELLENT!!!! I am thrilled with my materials and I appreciated your patience with me as I scrapped ideas so I could get it JUST RIGHT! I am VERY pleased with my final materials and that you could get it all done in the shortened timeline I had. Very good. You were always great about answering my questions."
