Dancing zombies hit Fringe Festival stage
This week DB co-founder Sydney Skybetter is breaking into the world of musical theatre, with dancing, bloodthirsty zombies replacing his typical company of modern dancers in the premiere of Ren Casey's musical Graveyard Shift.
In Graveyard Shift, the President of the United States has just informed the nation that a horribly contagious virus is spreading, turning citizens into bloodthirsty zombies. While the entire country is in panic mode, an ensemble of employees at the ValueVille Superstore working the graveyard shift lock themselves in and try to survive the night despite the rampaging ghouls that threaten to get inside.
Skybetter's choreography is being presented alongside the musical compositions of director Ren Casey at the Minetta Lane Theater August 27 at 7 p.m., August 28 at 4:15 p.m. and August 29 at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from the official Fringe Festival site (www.FringeNYC.org).
