skybetter and associates await Joyce Soho
Co-founder Sydney Skybetter's modern dance company, skybetter and associates, will begin a residency at Joyce Soho September 15th. Its Joyce SoHo Artist Residency will be devoted to the creation of Fugue State, a quartet to Shostakovitch’s Quintet For Piano & Strings op. 57 (1940). In the mean time, the company will be working with those of us here at Design Brooklyn, exploring emerging audience engagement methodologies, including rehearsal live-streaming, online archiving and web-based sharing of the choreographic process. Studio photos taken by Kokyat September 15th during the company's rehearsals with the newly-formed chamber ensemble, Group Therapy, have already begun a sort of digital archiving of the work.
